Will this help me work with hiring managers? Our workshop students say that our hiring manager intake is the best part of our job post writing training. Included with this course is an unreleased, course-only hiring manager intake the Three Ears Media team uses every time we write a job posting. There's also an entire lesson dedicated to hiring manager intake.
What if the role I am writing is very specialized, niche, or department-specific? Will this course cover that? Yes. We provide info on how to tailor your job post for your industry, niche, and level. We know job postings aren't one size fits all and have designed this course to offer advice you can use across any posting. When information doesn't apply, we'll mention that, too.
Once I pay, how do I log on and start my class? After you complete your purchase, a PDF of instructions will appear. It will direct you to the course URL and your unique password. This allows one person to access the course.
What forms of payment do you take? We accept payment through PayPal and Square. They accept credit or debit cards. We will not invoice outside of this system. Is this course designed to be a Netflix binge, i.e., every single episode in a particular order, or is it more of a "choose your adventure?" This course is not a Netflix binge unless you want it to be. It's meant to offer dynamic, on-demand advice while you're formulating job posting content. Here's what we recommend. First, block an afternoon on your calendar to watch each job video beginning to end while working on 1 role. Then, as you apply the knowledge, use the content and examples when you need them. Our videos are hyper-focused on each specific element of a well-written job post. With our inclusive job posting formula, whether it’s the right job title to inclusive language, the first sentence to the final bullet, you have the option to watch only the content you need, when you need it, for life.
What is the time commitment of this course? Each segment of the inclusive job post formula has less than ten-minutes of coaching . Time spent is flexible. If you watched the entire course beginning to end and completed the student activities as you go, it would take less than three hours.
Will you be grading any assignments or giving feedback? How will I know if I genuinely improve? No, unfortunately. As a small but mighty team, it's unrealistic to review and provide free coaching for every student. We encourage you to follow the steps outlined in our worksheet and rely on our downloadable examples as templates. If you would like Katrina's help rewriting a job posting or getting your array of questions answered, you should book a one-on-one session with Katrina.
How long will I have access in case I want to watch it again? Forever. That's the coolest part. (Most courses only give you access for up to one year.)
What if I'm just a terrible writer? It's not about being a great writer; it's about understanding who you're writing for and what information they need. If you've convinced someone to work for you, you can communicate this. For many of us, there's just a block between our brains and hands. We've been told we weren't good writers or thought it before.
Here's the truth. People weren't taught to write job postings (before now, at least). Instead, we were taught lies about writing and told that we have to follow the rules and write in a stilted, overly-formal tone to be professional. The rules have changed. If you get learn these formulas, you will write a great job posting.
What if the "rules" about writing job postings change again? Will the course be updated? Yes. We relaunch the course when new content is available
